1984 Anti-Sikh Riots: Sajjan Kumar Claims Innocence, "Can't Do It Even In My Dreams"

 In the case of anti-F Delhi Sikh riots, the convicted gentleman Kumar has declared himself innocent. I am not involved in this crime.



New Delhi: Kumar, a convicted man of anti-Sikh riots in 1984, has declared himself innocent in the Raus Avenue Court. Special Judge Digvijay Singh has ordered the next hearing of the matter to be held on July 29. During the hearing on Monday, the court filed a statement from Mr. Kumar. In the meantime, Sajjan Kumar described himself as innocent and said that I am innocent and I was never involved in this crime. He added that I could not even engage in this crime in my dreams and there is no evidence against me.


In fact, on November 9, 2023, Manjit Kaur, the victim of the matter, filed his statement. In his statement, Manjit Kaur said he had heard from people from the crowd that Sajjan Kumar was in the crowd but did not see him with his own eyes. Earlier, on August 23, 2023, the court filed charges against Mr. Kumar. The court ordered the charge against Sajjan Kumar under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. However, the court ordered the removal of Section 302 of the murder imposed by SIT against Sajjan Kumar.


The case is of Janakpuri


In fact, during the 1984 Sikh riots, two Sikhs, Sohan Singh and their son-in-law Avatar Singh, were assassinated in Janakpuri on November 1, 1984. Gurcharan Singh was burned in the Vicaspuri police station area, causing him to die. In both cases, SIT filed the case in 2015 and began the investigation. So in May 2018, Mr. Kumar's polygraph test has also been performed. Let me tell you that on February 25, the court sentenced Sajjan Kumar to life in prison in the case of anti-Sikh riots related to Saraswati behavior.
